You mentioned two of my favorite Commodore 64 games! Let's improve this game first, and then who knows! I'd love to create a pseudo-3D game for the Commodore 64.
Improve this one? It's already quite good and reminds me of Super Monaco Grand Prix from the Arcades. Well, imagine approximately 40 years ago, there have been quite good 3d like games already on the C64 and super smooth as well. I played Pitstop 2, Super Cycle and then there was The Great American Cross Country Road Race. Really cool games on the C64 for that time. Good luck with your projects!

Funny enough, the original game was actually a clone of the old Sega arcade game, Monaco GP (which came before Super Monaco GP)
Nice game, only seen gameplay video's so far. I do miss the burning car when hit? Then it goes to the side lane (pit?) Just like in the original.
That would have been too original :). It could be done, though. Try it
Congratulations—a very enjoyable update to Le Mans that doesn't alter the essence of the original game, with a smooth scrolling. Great fun!
